Professor
at the University of New Hampshire, Patricia Emison is the author of several
books on the Italian Renaissance, most recently, The Italian Renaissance and Cultural Memory, (Cambridge University
Press, 2012) and Leonardo (Phaidon Colour Library, 2011).
She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University and a B.A. in art history and
philosophy from Bryn Mawr College. She has published essays on aesthetics,
Virginia Woolf, and “Novelty,” this last as the winner of the Johnson Society
of London essay competition. She has organized or contributed to several print
exhibitions and has a long-standing interest in parallels between poetry and
pictures.
